CAM Program: Some Immigrants from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras Can Now Apply to Bring Their Children to the United States

Last updated on May 17, 2023

Good News: In September 2021, the U.S. government announced that it would start accepting new applications to the Central American Minors (CAM) Program. The CAM Program allows some people who are already in the United States to bring their children and certain other family members from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. This includes people who filed their asylum applications before April 11, 2023.

For more information, please see the flyer in this post created by two other organizations, IRAP and IRC. The flyer explains who can apply for CAM and which family members are eligible.

If you have questions about applying for CAM, please call the CAM Hotline at (917) 410-7546 or email [email protected]. They may be able to connect you with a local resettlement agency, who can help you apply for free. There is no fee for submitting a CAM application. You can also learn more on IRAP’s website and on USCIS’s website.
