Driver’s Licenses for Asylum Seekers

Asylum seekers with valid work permits are eligible for driver’s licenses in every U.S. state! However, each state has different rules, and may require additional documents.

Immigrants who do not have a work permit or other immigration status are currently eligible for driver’s licenses in 19 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.
